I am not just another executive coach
I coach the whole person, whether you are a C Suite Executive, upper level manager, business owner or industry leader. We all have a “whole” life – we’re someone’s son or daughter, brother, sister, mother, father, husband, wife, significant other, friend, mentor, and probably enemy here or there along with being a business person. We have hobbies, beliefs, passions, values, backgrounds and histories. As a coach, if I’m not recognizing the whole person, I’m not going to be effective at all. And, while I’m very serious about what I do, I realize that having fun while we work hard is what it’s all about.
I started my business and entrepreneurial career at the age of 8 by painting and selling rocks door to door (back when it was safe). Then I graduated to crocheting around bricks and selling them to select customers. Skip forward many years, I found as a Navy wife that being an entrepreneur was way more exciting than being a Loan Officer, financial counselor or working in an office. I owned a gift basket business in the Napa Valley area of California and sold wine chocolates to the wineries. Then, when “we” retired from the Navy, I started a company handling the warranties for high-end builders here in the Atlanta area. When the economy bottomed out, I closed the business … and then a wonderful thing happened. I was able to witness how a “coach approach” was working with teens that were struggling with drugs, alcohol and social skills. I knew that was something that I just had to do, so I enrolled in training in different types of coaching and I’ve never stopped.
I have a rather “interesting” combination of coaching skills and certifications
My coach (yes, coaches have coaches) calls it “the alphabet soup” behind my name. As the years have gone by, I’ve realized that in certain coaching situations, I needed or wanted new skills in order to do more meaningful work – not just the old run-of-the-mill working with your direct reports kind of stuff. It’s been really great because I’ve gotten to know individuals on a deeper level in a really interesting way. And, what’s better is that I can work with you so that you can do more meaningful work in your career and in your life as well!
